Almost 30 yrs ago, we were traveling North to somewhere in Alabama (I don't remember where) and couldn't find lodging for anything because there was not only a football game that weekend, but there was also a NASCAR race!! So we kept driving and ran ... We ended up staying the week and absolutely loved it and have never looked back! There's a reason why they call it ‘The Quiet Side of the Smokies’! If you ever get an opportunity to visit, you won't regret it!

Best cabin rentals on the ‘Quite Side of the Smokies’
Dogwood Cabins
Wonderful attraction with guided tours. I highly recommend this in the summer when it gets extremely hot as it will be cool in the caverns
Tuckaleechee Caverns
Another favorite spot to stay in Townsend. It sits directly on Little River where the fishing is fantastic!! We bring our RV but there are small cabins to rent & tent spots available too!
Little River Campground and RV Resort - Townsend
The Jeep Outpost rents Jeeps for off-roading but it is also a fun place to go and pick up souvenirs!
Cades Cove Jeep Outpost
An absolute MUST STOP when in Townsend. We always make this our first stop for their large selection of fresh coffee & our last stop to pick up some homemade fudge for the trip home (it's dangerous)!! If you go, be sure to try the Black Bear Brew Coffee Blend. It just smells like the mountains!
Apple Valley Mountain Village & Cafe
If we're not staying at a cabin, we like Tremont. It's always clean & the staff is friendly.
